In 2008, I was part of the team that developed the mobile version of El Mercurio newspaper for smartphones, tablets and Smart TVs. This was the first News company in Chile that made available an app for their readers.
My job was to design the user experience (UX), deciding the flow of content as well as the look and feel of the mobile version. We started with an iPhone 3 and with one of the first models of LG flat TV with smart technology that had arrived in Chile.
The launch of the app and its following versions were a big success for a tradicional company like El Mercurio, with their almost 100 years of history, they had only been leading changes in the print industry. This was a very disruptive and innovating process.
